Get to Know the Team - Nicole

Nicole Martyniuk - Operations Manager

What is your role on the Mark Siwiec Team?

I'm the Operations Manager, so I oversee the daily operations of the office, meet with our Sales Executives regularly, research comparable sales, and handle all of Mark's finances. I love the people that I work with, which makes the job very rewarding (and challenging!) at the same time.

Where can we find you when you're not at the office?

I'm usually at home with my husband, Andy, and our 2 year old daughter, Esme. We like to go for walks, or go to the Zoo or Strong Museum. I really enjoy doing yoga at Breathe or the Barre class at M/Body for some much needed me time! Andy and I try to go out for dates or meet friends for a drink occasionally. Both of our families live in Rochester, which keeps us very busy....and the grandparents love to babysit!  Esme also loves spending time with her cousins, so we are very lucky!

What were you doing before you joined the team?

I worked at Bank of America for 7 years, both in business development and as a personal banker. After the crash in 2008, where Bank of America became a villain, it was clear that I needed a change. A good friend, who was working for Mark at the time, told me about the opportunity to join the team. It was an easy decision to make the change!

What has been the highlight of the past 12 months, and what are you looking forward to in the next 12 months?

I would have to say that watching Esme become this little person, especially over the past 3 months, has been my highlight. She has a spunky attitude, huge vocabulary, and she makes me laugh all the time. She is a healthy kid, which I'm grateful for every day. In the future, I'm really looking forward to going to New Orleans with Andy this year. It's somewhere that I’ve wanted to visit for a long time!

Who/what has inspired you most in your life?

Proudly I can say my mom, Carol Luciano. She was a single mom when my sister and I were very young. She worked hard to take care of us, but she also made time for herself and knows how to have a good time. Her example as a woman, mother and daughter has taught me to be kind, strong, and selfless, not to take myself too seriously, to love unconditionally, and to be smart with my money! I'm so grateful for the woman she is....and that she is my mom!

Describe your perfect day.

I hate to say it, but Esme would be at her grandparents so that I can sleep in. I would have a cup of coffee with Andy, go to Barre class, then pick up Esme and go somewhere outside....maybe the Zoo or for a long walk. We would stop for lunch on Park Ave and sit outside. While Esme was taking her afternoon nap, I would read a book on the front porch or meet a friend for coffee.  The evening would consist of playing with Esme and Andy, ordering out, and opening a nice bottle of wine. OR I would spend the whole day on a sail boat island hopping in the Carribbean...one of the two.
