Get To Know The Team - Matt

Matt Jensen - Real Estate Sales Executive

What were you doing before you joined the Mark Siwiec Team?

Having been on Mark's team twice, I guess you would have to specify which time you're referring to as "before".  The first time, in 2006, I had worked at the front desk at RE/MAX Realty Group as a "temp" job, while trying to determine what I wanted to do with myself for a career.  As it turned out, it was staring me in the face, so I joined Mark's team until he left for Nothnagle in 2011.  Since then, I opened my own business helping real estate professionals in every aspect of their daily jobs. Most recently, before joining Mark's team in January, I was a full time Realtor at that same RE/MAX office.

How do you spend your Sundays?

Unfortunately, Sundays are work days for realtors, so most of my Sundays are filled with real estate. If I'm not busy with that, however, I like to get out to a piece of property that I own with my brothers, either to get some physical activity in or to just relax.  From September to (hopefully) February, if I'm not in the woods or doing an open house, you will find me watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If you weren't selling real estate, what would you be doing?

I honestly do not know.  I really enjoy this job immensely and have not thought of another path since I first started with Mark's office in 2006.  It's such an interesting job and one day is never the same as the next.  Having said that, I do love anything history-related and could see myself teaching any number of courses in that field.

Where can we find you when you're not at work?

Home, probably cooking dinner.  I wish I could add more to that but that's the truth.

Describe your perfect vacation.

I love to travel the United States.  It's a very beautiful and diverse country, from the people to the scenery.  I have been to 42 out of 50 states and would like to go to Alaska next.  I can get to the world later.  It probably needs time to prepare for me anyway.

If you could sum up your personality in one word, what would it be?

Editor's Note: I just wanted to add in my own two cents regarding how to best summarize Matt's personality. After knowing him for over ten years, there is no other word that fits Matt better than "loyal." Among a myriad of other reasons, this was predominately why I had originally asked him to join the team many years ago. My sense, which proved to be true, was that Matt was an incredibly kind and loyal person. Happy to have him back on our team!
