Jaclyn Bertola - Listing Coordinator
What was your first job?
I started scooping ice-cream at the age of 15 and spent six consecutive summers with a team of best friends where laughs ensued, customers walked away happy, and I went home smelling of waffle cones…
What was your biggest take-away from that job?
From then until now, I’ve learned that it matters not the business that occupies your work day, the duties, responsibilities, or functions. It’s the attention and heart that you give what you do, the people who surround you, and the satisfaction of those you serve.
Where can we find you when you’re not at the office?
When I’m not at the office I look forward to going home to my loving husband, sweet 10 year old son, and slobbering Mastiff. At home, the laughter continues, new recipes are tested, home improvements are playfully made, and life marches on!
What is the best thing about your current position as a Listing Coordinator?
One of the greatest privileges that my job affords me is the opportunity to walk through the best of Rochester real estate and work alongside some of the finest in the Rochester community. It intertwines my love for Rochester as a City with its fantastic mix of young professionals, long-time residents, newcomers, artists, musicians, food enthusiasts, housewives and househusbands, and my lifelong love and fascination with homes.
Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?
I love escaping to the Adirondacks for bonfires, walking wooded trails, canoeing on quiet lakes, and hiking up modest mountains. Jumping on the back of my husband’s motorcycle and disappearing for an evening or a weekend, exploring Rochester, the Finger Lakes, or a fun hidden-away restaurant is also one of my favorite pastimes… when the weather affords.
If you weren’t on the Mark Siwiec team, what would be your dream job?
Dream job? In many ways, I feel as though I’m already there. I am surrounded by a fun and supportive team and am challenged and laugh out loud, daily, at my dynamic boss!
Who has inspired you most in your life?
As a lover of words and reading, I have been most inspired by Maya Angelou... with her other-worldly poetic wisdom, passion for equality, and stunning example of dynamic womanhood. She may be second only to my maternal Grandmother, who embodied many of the same extraordinary qualities.
